Ayza: A Little Piece of Heaven

Ayza is the perfect place to take a first date. Tucked away in a small area around Herald Square, this chocolate and tapas haven provides an eclectic array of cocktails and small eats. It is certainly my go to place for chocolate dessert concoctions and provides a romantic, yet calming ambiance.

The chocolate martinis are quite an experience and a simple must for dessert enthusiasts, ranging from almond to a subtle mint flavor, topped with chocolate shavings and a chocolate pairing to boot. The chocolate martinis have a subtle essence of liquor, but in reality, they’re very much similar to flavored shakes at an ice cream store.

To pair with my delicious chocolate cocktail, I decided to order the mozzarella di bufala with prosciutto di parma. The mozzarella is fresh and soft enough to act as a pillow of comfort, the prosciutto adds to enhance the flavor of the soft cheese, and the arugula gives a refreshing taste to the palette. I give this restaurant an 8 out of 10. The ambiance is subtle, elegant, and very welcoming. The service is rather attentive and hospitable.

Ayza is quite popular at night and on the weekends. If you do decide to take a first date there, keep in mind the noise level may be much louder than if you go around 5-6pm. Also, make a reservation ๐Ÿ˜‰
