Moments of Weakness

Sometimes the most difficult thing for a person to do is to stop concealing and masking their insecurities. When things get tough, it’s difficult to keep lying to yourself, that everything will be okay. Many people get stuck while others run away from the problems they encounter. Running away from things to escape how you truly feel puts you in knots- in a stronghold that is so difficult to free yourself from. Many people believe that the past is not who they are now, it is what they become now that is more important, but how can you separate the two? The reason you are who you’ve become is because of your past, it’s a consequence of the actions you take. It’s essential, but does it define a person? Being defined by your past is certainly not a way to embrace the future. Taking the past to learn and correct things in the future is what makes us stronger or weaker. If one runs away from the issues they must face, we become stuck walking in circles, we become the definition of insanity, repeating the same things only to expect different results. With that said, is vulnerability our friend or our foe? Every one of us has an inner sanctum where we pick and choose who we decide who will be able to enter it. Quite frankly, the people who look the most put together are the ones who are hurting the most. They are the ones who act the strongest.
I’ve come to realize that what sticks out about a person the most is normally their weakest point. We spend so much time masking these vulnerabilities and weak points that we try to make it seem like there is no issue with it. But there is only so long that we can mask them and lie to ourselves about their existence.
However through those moments of weakness, sometimes things just end up falling apart. We end up building a stronger foundation. If we just let ourselves a fall apart to restart, it’s better than fearing the fall. Because as we know, when you hit the bottom, there’s only one way to go- and that’s up. In times of hardship, it’s best to remember how you feel and hold onto it. It is what you do with these feelings that make or break you. I refuse to be broken. I refuse to give up. We end up evolving in some way, shape, or form, and it will always take great strength and time.
